The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched the BMC Gen Z Fellowship Programme 2026, offering young graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience in civic administration, policymaking and Mumbai’s development. The fellowship is being offered under the theme “Let’s join hands for Viksit Mumbai” and has 50 seats.
The programme is for 12 months, and selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹61,500. Fellows will get exposure to BMC governance, work with policymakers, develop leadership skills and understand how a large municipal administration functions. A Certificate of Participation will also be provided after completion of the fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a graduation degree in any stream. Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Marathi is essential. Candidates should also have adequate knowledge of Hindi and English, along with working knowledge of computer operations and the internet. The applicant must be below 28 years of age at the time of application.
Benefits of the Fellowship
Selected candidates will receive ₹61,500 per month for 12 months. The fellowship is designed to provide practical exposure to civic governance, policy-related work and leadership. Participants will also receive a certificate after successfully completing the programme.
