The Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for direct recruitment to Social Worker, Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts. The advertisement was published in Employment News released on 11 July 2026, and the notification specifies that applications should reach the Council within 60 days from the date of publication. The closing date mentioned for applications is 9 September 2026

Candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Lahaul & Spiti, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep, as well as candidates residing abroad, have an additional provision: their applications and DD should reach CCRS within seven working days from the closing date.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹300.

The fee must be paid through a Bank Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Central Council for Research in Siddha, payable at Chennai. Cash, cheque, money order or postal order will not be accepted. Candidates must write their name, Advertisement Number and post applied for on the reverse side of the DD. 

PwBD and SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are different for each post. Candidates must have the required qualification and experience as prescribed in the notification.

Social Worker – 1 Post

Candidates must have:

  • A Degree from a recognised university.
  • A minimum one-year Diploma in Social Work from a recognised university/institution.
  • One year of Social Work experience in a recognised institution or hospital.

Alternatively, candidates with a Postgraduate Degree in Sociology from a recognised university can apply. The maximum age is 30 years or below as on 1 January 2026

Upper Division Clerk (UDC) – 2 Posts

Candidates should have:

  • A Degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in correspondence work in a Government, Semi-Government, PSU, autonomous body or institution.
  • Thorough knowledge of office routine, rules and regulations.

The age should be between 18 and 27 years. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable to eligible Government servants as per Central Government rules. 

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) – 3 Posts

Candidates must have:

  • 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognised Board or University.
  • Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English, or 30 words per minute in Hindi or Tamil on computer.

The prescribed typing speeds correspond to 10,500 KDPH for English and 9,000 KDPH for Hindi/Tamil, calculated at an average of five key depressions per word. The age limit is 18 to 27 years, with applicable relaxation for eligible Government servants. 

CCRS Salary 2026

The recruitment offers regular 7th CPC Pay Matrix scales:

  • Social Worker: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400, Pay Level 6
  • UDC: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100, Pay Level 4
  • LDC: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200, Pay Level 2 

Selection Process

Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their educational qualifications, experience and other prescribed requirements.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for the Written Test at their own expense. The final selection list will be prepared in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the number of vacancies. A Personal Interview will be conducted wherever applicable

LDC Typing Test

For the Lower Division Clerk post, the typing/skill test is mandatory but qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the typing test will then be considered for final selection according to their written-examination merit. 

Candidates can choose English, Hindi or Tamil as the typing-test medium. If no medium is selected, English will be treated as the default choice. 

The written test and personal interview, wherever applicable, will be held at:

No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the written test or personal interview.

The application process is offline. Candidates must download the prescribed form from the CCRS website and submit it in the correct format.

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Visit the official CCRS website.
  2. Download the application form for the relevant post.
  3. Use Annexure-I for Social Worker, Annexure-II for UDC and Annexure-III for LDC
  4. Fill in your name, address, date of birth, contact details and educational qualifications.
  5. Add your experience details wherever applicable.
  6. Paste a recent passport-size colour photograph in the space provided.
  7. Sign the application in your own handwriting.
  8. Attach the required self-attested documents.
  9. Attach the original Demand Draft, if applicable.
  10. Put the completed application in an envelope superscribed with “Application for the post of ______”.
  11. Send it by Speed Post to the CCRS headquarters.

Candidates applying for more than one post can apply separately, provided they satisfy the eligibility requirements for each post. A separate application and applicable fee are required for each post.

  • 10th/SSLC/Matriculation certificate as age proof
