Maharashtra GDS 1st Merit List 2026 – Cut Off Percentage

According to the released merit list, the selection percentages in Maharashtra are quite high. The cut-off varies depending on division, category, and number of vacancies.

From the official list:

  • Highest percentage: around 100%
  • Lowest percentage: around 84.5%

For example, in some divisions candidates were selected with:

  • 98–100% marks in UR category
  • 95–98% marks in OBC category
  • 90–95% marks in ST category
  • 93–98% marks in SC category

In one case from Ahilyanagar Division, candidates were selected with marks like 97.3333%, 98.2%, 93.3333%, and 95.8667% depending on category and post.

How to Check Maharashtra Post Office GDS Merit List 2026

Candidates can check their selection status using the official PDF list.

Method 1 – Using Smartphone/ Using Computer or Laptop

  1. Open the official India Post GDS website: https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
  2. On Side Corner you see “Shortlisted Candidates: Schedule-1, January-2026”.
  3. Click on ‘Shortlisted Candidates: Schedule-1, January-2026’
  4. Then Click on “Maharashtra”.
  5. After Click on Maharashtra you see on red colour ‘List Of Shortlisted Candidates” click on their and
  6. Download the merit list PDF.
  7. Open the file and search your Registration Number using the search option.

What to Do After Selection

Candidates shortlisted in the first merit list must complete document verification.

You must carry:

  • Original 10th marksheet
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Identity proof
  • Computer certificate (if required)
  • Two sets of photocopies of documents

Verification must be completed at the Divisional Office of the selected division before 23 March 2026.

The Maharashtra Post Office GDS Merit List 2026 is the first list released for the January recruitment cycle. Candidates whose names are not included in the first list should wait for the second or third merit list, which may be released after document verification of selected candidates.
