Konkan Railway Recruitment 2026: 30 Office Boy, Helper & Khalasi Posts, Walk-in Interview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has released a recruitment notification for Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi posts on a fixed-term contractual basis. A total of 30 vacancies are available under the Mechanical/Project Department.

Eligible candidates can appear directly for the Walk-in Interview along with the prescribed application form and required original documents. The initial contract will be for 1 year, which may be extended up to 5 years depending on performance and KRCL requirements.

Vacancy Details

The 30 posts are distributed according to the category as follows:

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed 10th standard and must be physically fit to perform general office, housekeeping and maintenance-related duties.

Along with the educational qualification, candidates must have at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in repair workshops or manufacturing units. 

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 50 years as on 1 July 2026.

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates as per the notification. The instructions mention 3 years relaxation for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC/ST candidates applying against the respective reserved category. 

Salary / Remuneration

The consolidated monthly remuneration for Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi is:

• A Class – ₹29,300 per month
• B Class – ₹27,500 per month
• C Class – ₹25,700 per month

The consolidated remuneration includes Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance and Mobile Allowance. An annual increase of 4% of consolidated remuneration may be considered after completion of every year, subject to KRCL’s requirement and discretion. 

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidates will support technicians and artisans in workshop activities. Their duties may include:

• Assisting fitters, welders, electricians and carpenters.
• Supporting repair and maintenance activities of rolling stock.
• Handling, lifting, shifting and loading/unloading materials.
• Supporting tools and equipment handling.
• Maintaining cleanliness of machines and workshop areas.
• Basic office support such as file handling and movement of documents.

These responsibilities are part of the prescribed job description for the post. 

Contract Period

The appointment is not a regular/permanent KRCL post. The initial contract period is one year and may be extended up to five years based on performance and KRCL’s requirement. KRCL can also terminate the contract as per the applicable terms. 

Selected candidates are required to execute the prescribed agreement and indemnity bond, and contractual appointment does not provide automatic absorption into regular KRCL service. 

Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview.

Candidates will first register at the venue and undergo preliminary screening. Depending on the number of candidates, KRCL may introduce a Group Discussion or another elimination round, including a written test.

The final merit list will be prepared considering the candidate’s interview performance, qualification and post-qualification experience. 

Walk-in Interview Details

Date: 10 September 2026
Registration: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Venue: Kajali Club, Near RRM Office, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra

The walk-in interview may continue on subsequent days depending on the number of registrations. Candidates should be prepared to stay for at least two days if required. No train/bus fare or TA/DA will be paid by KRCL. 

Documents Required

Candidates should bring the original certificates along with one copy of the prescribed application form and self-attested copies of the required documents.

Important documents include:

1. Educational qualification certificate
2. Date of Birth proof – SSLC/SSC certificate or Birth Certificate
3. Caste certificate, if applicable
4. Experience certificate
5. Relevant category certificates, if applicable
6. Character certificate from a Gazetted Officer/Executive Officer
7. Other documents specified in the notification

Incomplete applications or applications without the required certificates may be rejected.
